The IBM 7315-CR2 Rack-Mounted Hardware Management Console (HMC) is a dedicated rack-mounted system unit that provides a GUI for configuring and operating multiple pSeries servers in either SMP, LPAR, or clustered environments. It comes with a hardware management application for configuring and partitioning the server.

The HMC CR2 is a dedicated-function device used solely to provide control and service functions to the pSeries servers it supports. It is not available as a general purpose computing resource.
